WOW! I was shocked to hear about Mr Gutches Passing. When I came to LHS in 1976. I have just come from York academy for a year. Before that I spent four years in a special school in Charlotteville Va. That dealt with anger management in Kids. So Mr. Gutches had his hand full with me. Every year Counselors would change students. Not Mr. Gutches. He told everyone that he was going to make sure I graduated. So he kept me for four years. I knew I wasn't college material. I am Grateful that I Graduated in 1980. In a Big Part of that was because of Mr. Gutches. God Bless him. I wish I could have said thank you. So here Now I will THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELPED ME. May my life be a Blessing to others? It's isnt what you take with you when you leave this world. It's what you leave behind. Educators are the backbone of this COUNTRY.
