David Lee Camby
JANUARY 25, 1961 – AUGUST 28, 2023

David Lee Camby, 62, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side.
Born January 25, 1961 in Silver Springs, MD, David was the son of the late Paul Ray Camby of Rutherfordton, NC, and Betty Jean Heflin of Thornburg, VA.
David attended Lafayette High School, where he played both baseball and football. An excellent pitcher and catcher, David was scouted by and asked to play with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Due to a family emergency, he ultimately decided not to go.
David retired from York County as a utility worker. He enjoyed cutting down trees and woodworking.
A fun-loving, good-hearted person, David would have done anything to help anyone who needed it. He loved to have fun and make you laugh. He loved his life, his family, and his friends. He was passionate about his fur-babies, especially Gipper, his beloved golden retriever and most favorite loyal companion.
In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Camby, and one sister, Debbie Seay.
Those who survive to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 wonderful years, Tracy Lynn Boyd Camby; his only son, Dakota Lee Camby and his wife Cierra of New Kent, VA; mother, Betty Jean Heflin of Thornburg, VA; brother, Bobby Simmons and his wife Tina of Williamsburg, VA; four beautiful grandchildren, Noah, Lacie, Kayden, and Layla; and Dakota’s mother, Charlene Clarke Houck of Williamsburg, VA.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Stacy Seay Hodges of VA, Kenny Seay Jr. of VA, Alice Reyns of Williamsburg, VA, and Tommy Reyns of Williamsburg, VA; sister-in-law, Tonya Boyd Beightol and husband Michael of Gastonia, NC; niece Alexus Boyd of Gastonia, NC; great-niece, Makenzi Boyd of Gastonia, NC; along with a host of other family members and friends.
David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
